From now on:

I'm keeping shorter hair. I like it. I feel better with short hair.

If you're on the B-line, check out Louie's hair stylists just up the street from B.U. East. Nice place to get a cut for just $14.

I showed them a picture of Henry from Silent Hill 4 and I said, "Can I have this hair?"
About twenty minutes later, sure enough, they gave me that hair. I happily gave the man a $20 to keep for the whole cut.

Music Recommendation of the day:
If you're up for some interesting indie-rock from Sweden, check out the band Dungen. You probably won't be disappointed.

I went to the Copley GameStop today after paying rent just for laughs, and to my surprise they had just unloaded an entire shipment of Wii's. I was the third person to get one, there were people already in line. I can't believe that this was the first time I found one in stock since launch day. Something like four months later, I finally meet Wii. It's fantastic.

Green Line vs. Lexus

Winner: Green Line

Good thing I decided to bring my camera today. On my way down to the Prudential Mall, the train I was on came to a literal screeching halt. Curious passengers, myself included, looked out the windows to find we had smashed into a car (and dragged it into the middle of the intersection) as it tried to cut in front of the train. Ambulances arrived and paramedics instructed everyone to exit the train due to a fuel-leak fire hazard, (seen under the Lexus in the photo,) and quickly glanced all of us over to make sure we were okay. The people in the Lexus fared a little worse-off, just really scared more than anything. I took quite a few snapshots of the accident as they dislodged the Lexus from the front of the train and got the line moving again. They devised a genius method to get the Lexus unstuck: Just back the train up! It made a little bit more of a mess, but.. actually, I was impressed that the cleanup only took about a half-hour. I was pleased because I was still able to get to the Prudential only slightly late instead of not at all.

Lesson: Don't try to beat the trains. Just... don't.

[click for full size]

Twice a day for Fourteen Days

Okay so I got a pretty major sinus infection that has been brewing inside my skull for two weeks without me knowing it.
I had to go home and have it looked at to make sure I wasn't dying or anything, and they gave me 28 of these tablets to try and fix the damage. As the photo shows, the pills are no small adversary. 875mg is a lot of juice. I have to take these twice a day for 14 days. To put the severity into perspective, a normal sinus infection requires two tablets a day for 3 to 5 days. Yeah.

I should get better, the only thing I'm pissed about is that I missed an ENTIRE week of school because of the condition I've been in.
This infection has been fucking around with my dreams, too. It's almost emotionally scarring. *shiver*

Star Wars Rock

You know what I would love to see?
Imagine it now: The original Star Wars trilogy remastered with nothing but licensed music -- completely stripped of its orchestrated score.

This was brought about because earlier I was playing Lego Star Wars II on my X360. [For those who don't know, the Xbox 360 supports playing music over plugged in ipods, data drives, and over home networks at ANY time you choose. When you start playing music, the game's music tracks will mute and be replaced with your own. The game sound effects continue, just over your own music. It's awesome.] I had my my iTunes library streaming to my 360 from my Mac Mini, and I gotta tell you, there's something oddly amazing about rhomping through the Death Stars halls, taking out everything in sight while saving the Princess to Journey's "Any Way You Want It."

I work for Apple.

You heard right.

Today I had an interview with the Accounts Manager of Apple.
We went to a japanese restaurant and got super-expensive sushi, talked about Katamari Damacy [she asked about my macbooks wallpaper,] and I showed her my work on my MacBook.

--- Long story short, I was hired for the job. What is my job? I'm a designer. I'm going to be creating the material that apple prints for the entire boston area, including all of the local colleges. She really liked my work, and said I'm a very required new member of the Apple team. She said that the current-day designs for apple's localized material sucks and they need a good designer to pump up the imagery and make it more interesting to pick up and read. This is where I come in!

On top of this, I'm going to be an apple representative. This means I'm going to be travelling to various colleges/places to give live demos and classes [in front of big screens!] about the latest developments in Apple/Mac OS and teach how to use software like the iLife suite, maybe even some adobe stuff, and how to take better advantage of your programs.

-- For example, they want me to give a presentation on how to use Boot Camp to use windows on your Intel Based mac. This means they want me to show them how macs can utilize windows games on the mac -- and give a live demo of Half-Life 2 on the MacBook hahaha.

Previous students who've had this position have gotten free stuff [like ipods, ipod hi-fi's, you name it,] soooo I'm looking forward to that...

This could be the start to something great! I could be getting my foot in the door, if years go by, maybe I can work my way up? Either way, Apple Corporation looks good on my resume.

It's only a verbal hiring for now -- I do the rest next week.

Putting on a show

When you meet somebody new, someone you've never met before, or someone you haven't met in years and years... Have you ever found yourself accentuating your own personality for the sake of appearing more interesting to the other person?

I think I do it when I meet someone new, especially if it's a large group of people. There's something about meeting a whole new roster of friends that gives you the chance to just reform your personality on a clean slate -- afterall, these people don't any better who you were and who you are now.

I've noticed that it's easy to find people who do this because they would either explain to you how they act differently around they're seperate groups of friends than they do with you, or you would just notice the changes yourself. Your personality essentially remains the same, but you alter it in significant ways to become more accepted into their current group.

I've noticed that when I'm around some of my closer/personal friends, I tend to be a little geeky, sort of techie, and a little more open minded. However, around a girl that I'd become interested in, I would actually alter myself to think before I speak -- eliminating any stuttering in my speech, and pronouncing things much better, perhaps even with a little suave~ <3, I'd also limit my topics to mutual interests -- or whatever makes me seem to be least geeky. I sort of feel like I act like who I want to be / should be. Heh, I'm not too sure.

I mean, on some level I know we all do this. It may not be outright *lying* to yourself on who you really are, its sort of just picking and choosing which traits you want to stand out more than others. I suppose the hard part is keeping those traits constant while that person/group is around...

*dances and cleans*
